NWLSD Announces Brewer As Colerain Elementary Assistant Principal
Anne Brewer Northwest Local School District is pleased to announce Anne Brewer as the new Assistant Principal of Colerain Elementary School.
Anne Brewer has been in education for thirteen years. Anne’s interest in education began when she was in high school and had the opportunity to volunteer in a kindergarten classroom to earn her Gold Award in Girl Scouts. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education with an emphasis in math and science from the University of Cincinnati.
She began her career as a math and science teacher at an elementary school in Dayton, Ohio where she was nominated as Teacher of the Year and established the school’s first science fair.
In 2012, Anne wanted to be closer to home and accepted a position teaching math at Summit Academy in Cincinnati. In 2013, she was promoted to the Summit Academy Administrative Team as the Math Instructional Coach.
Anne attended Xavier University and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education Administration in May of 2017. She also obtained her Ohio Principal License and completed additional coursework to obtain an Ohio Intervention Specialist License.
Anne joined the Northwest Local School District in August of 2017. She spent a year teaching fifth grade math and science at Monfort Heights. Anne has been in her current role as Dean of Students at Colerain Elementary for 5 years. In this role, she has been an active member of the administrative team, mentored teachers and worked to reinforce positive student behavior.
“Colerain Elementary has always felt like home,” said Brewer. “I enjoy working with the staff, students and families. Together we have worked to create a learning environment that promotes academic success while understanding the importance of supporting the social-emotional needs of every child.”
Anne Brewer is happy to have the opportunity to continue to work with the Colerain Elementary staff, students and families as the Assistant Principal. Pending Board approval, Brewer will step into her new role on August 1, 2023.
